With a diversified portfolio of activities Tahir has pursued a rich and productive career. Perhaps the most pivotal element in his life, is his knack for trekking and amateur climbing. As a trekker he has experienced dozens of treks throughout Pakistan.
Professionally,
he is associated with the tourism and travel industry. His dedication, ingenuity
and experience in tourism have bestowed him with praise and recognition amongst
industry leaders. As a professional speaker and tourism consultant, he has
represented several national and internationally famous tourism conferences,
seminars and marts. Tahir's educational background is as rich as his tourism
knowledge and expertise. With proficient knowledge in history coupled with
various professional courses, Tahir's educational merit matches and supplements
his professional attributes. He has undertaken several adventure and field
training courses as well. Some important disciplines are Travel & Tour
Operations, Mountaineering & Rock-Climbing, Wilderness and Water Sports etc.
He
has been an active member of several organizations conducting adventurous
activities and has participated, conducted and led various training programs.
His passion for adventure travel has led him to establish an actively
progressive organization for adventure enthusiasts under the banner of " The
Adventure Club ".
Being a genuine traveler, Tahir has made rich contributions in introducing remote and rarely visited areas of Pakistan. His articles have appeared in leading newspapers and periodicals documenting travel, history, archaeology, culture, adventure and eco-tourism. He has actively written scripts for PTV's famous travel program "The Travel Guide of Pakistan".
Tahir's love for books has resulted in a personal collection
of a large variety of books on travel and tourism.
A
useful contribution for trekkers is his guidebook called "Trekking Aur Wadi -e-
Kaghan" (Trekking and Kaghan Valley) published in national language. While
another helpful and comprehensive book called "Kaghan Valley - A tourist &
Trekker's Guide " is recently made available and has appeared weekly in 'Daily
Star' - Karachi, a prestigious newspaper of Dawn Group. A collection of his
published articles named "Travel Diary" will soon be available for reference.
Tahir's passion for traveling has taken him to many countries of the sub-continent and Europe. Photography is another hobby quite religiously pursued by him. His collection of transparencies and photographs has been a proud presentation in various programs. Tahir Imran has indeed led a fulfilling career in pursuit of his passion for traveling. He is still going strong and we can expect to see a lot more of him in future.
